Terms of service
Draft — pre-launch. These terms govern use of The Dugout marketing website and the playable game client. They may change before public launch.
Agreement
By accessing The Dugout (the marketing site or game client), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
The service
The Dugout is an online football management simulation. The marketing site provides product information. The game client lets you create a manager account, run a club, and compete in simulated seasons against other managers.
Accounts
Playing requires a valid account via Firebase Authentication. You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for activity under your account. One person should not operate multiple accounts to gain unfair advantage unless we explicitly allow it.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Cheat, exploit bugs, or use automation to gain unfair advantage
- Harass, abuse, or impersonate other managers or staff
- Attempt to disrupt servers, scrape at scale, or bypass security
- Use the service for unlawful purposes or to distribute malware
In-game economy
The Dugout uses an in-game currency (Dugout Credits). Virtual items and balances have no real-world cash value unless we explicitly state otherwise. We may adjust economy rules to preserve fair play.
Intellectual property
The Dugout name, branding, software, and content are owned by us or our licensors. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use the service for personal, non-commercial entertainment.
Simulation disclaimer
The Dugout is a fictional simulation. It is not affiliated with real football leagues, clubs, or players unless explicitly stated. Match outcomes are generated by our simulation engine.
Availability
We aim for reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance and factors outside our control may cause downtime.
Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided “as is” and “as available” to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our aggregate liability is limited as permitted by applicable law.
Termination
You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms or to protect the service and community.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
